Our program is design to empower, embrace, and encourage our youth to overcome environmental issues that point them in unproductive directions through innovation and evidence-based principles and practices. We utilize innovation and application to meet the specific learning needs of our youth. DC Youth Empowerment, provides tools and resources that expand students’ skills and abilities that will increase academic success, post-secondary transition, and social-emotional development.

 

Our  DIRECT AIM is to provide the youth or young adult with building the cognitive capacity through innovation, skills, knowledge and application that will stabilize their emotional stability and social ability, resulting in positive outcomes at home, school,  community and/or  gaining entry into the workforce

 

Our typical student profile includes boys ages 7 – 21 in Washington DC

who are:

 

  • Spiraling out of control

  • Making poor peer relationship choices

  • Causing conflicts at home, in school or in their communities

  • Acting defiant or entitled

  • Having anger management problems

  • Individuals who are seeking a chance and opportunity

EMOTIONAL & ACADEMIC GROWTH

We provide a web of support that increases academic performance, postsecondary transition and social –emotional development. Students receive therapeutic personalized learning through individualized instruction to meet the specific learning needs of the youth:

 

  • In –School Support *Behavior and Academic Support

  • In-Home Support *Dealing with and Managing Surface Behaviors

  • Community (Socio-emotional) Development*Cognitive, and overall Health & Wellness

  • Workforce Development *Preparing for Immediate Employment
